The most effective way to prevent large-scale water pollution is to try to mitigate its negative effects. There are numerous small changes we can make to protect ourselves from a water-stressed future.

Conserve Water: The first goal should be to conserve water. Water waste is a major issue worldwide, and we are only now becoming aware of it. Simple domestic changes will make a huge difference.
Sewage treatment: Treating waste before disposing of it in bodies of water helps to reduce water pollution on a large scale. By reducing the toxic content of the wastewater, agriculture and other industries can reuse it.
Use of environmentally friendly products: We can protect the environment by using soluble products that do not degrade into pollutants.
