POLLUTION OF OUR WATERS:
TIME TO TAKE ACTION

Water Pollution

Water pollution is the tainting of bodies of water (such as oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, aquifers, and groundwater) and is typically brought on by human activity. Any modification to the physical, chemical, or biological characteristics of water that eventually has a negative impact on any living thing is referred to as water pollution.

Impact on the Environment

Entry of pollutants into waterways or big water bodies causes acidic lakes, elevates the temperature of water bodies, stimulates the spread of algal blooms, and leads to dissolved oxygen depletion. This can force fish and other aquatic animals out of their locations in search of more adaptable water areas.
